Wisdom Teeth Extraction
The prospect of having your wisdom teeth removed could be terrifying, but it need not be. Monarch Dentistry in Oakville is able to do this operation. To ensure that the wisdom tooth infection is not the root of your issues, a comprehensive examination will be conducted prior to tooth extraction. If it's an infection, you'll be given medication and told to come back once you're better. To make the region surrounding your wisdom teeth numb, a local anesthetic will be provided when you visit Monarch Dentistry. To remove a tooth, dentists numb the region first, then cut the gums around the tooth and remove it from the bone.
To prevent excessive bleeding after surgery, sutures may be required for some patients. We will give you some gauze to put in the space between your gums and instruct you to bite down gently so the gauze can soak up the blood. Within 24 hours, you should feel a gradual cessation of bleeding.
According to Monarch Dentistry, using an ice pack ten to fifteen minutes apart may help decrease swelling. A warm washcloth or other wet heat source might help alleviate discomfort. It is recommended to gargle with salt water for the first twenty-four hours after the therapy to alleviate discomfort. The good news is that mouths often recover quickly following dental work. Within a few days following your wisdom teeth extraction, you should no longer feel any pain or discomfort.
Our Patients are always a priority and we do our best to accommodate those with pain and need to be seen by a Dentist.
