Bridges & Dental Implants
Modern dentistry now makes use of prosthesis in addition to the more conventional dentures. Dentures aren't necessary for most people since they aren't missing all of their teeth; rather, they just have a few gaps in their smiles caused by tooth loss. Having spaces between your teeth makes it more difficult to clean your teeth properly and less likely that you will smile.Fortunately, there are several options for filling up gaps in your smile, the most common of which being dental implants and bridges. These prostheses are designed to fill in your mouth gaps to such a degree that only a trained eye could tell you are missing teeth.
Bridges
Supporting adjacent teeth is how bridges work. Up to three teeth may be supported by a bridge if the teeth on each side are strong enough. Simply said, the bridges will attach to the good teeth and, ideally, fill the space between the missing teeth. The dentist may have to file down a little to make room for the bridge, but it won't hurt the teeth. Additionally, bridges may be easily removed.
Implants
Similar to traditional bridges, dental implants last a lifetime and don't compromise the stability of adjacent teeth. Although more expensive than bridges, these implants are remarkable for their durability and ability to mimic the appearance and function of real teeth. Implants & long lifetime is one of its best features. While the initial investment may be out of reach for some, there are several benefits to getting dental implants rather than other types of prosthetics, the most important of which is the long-term stability they give.
