Although your teeth are usually rather strong, they are nonetheless vulnerable to harm.  Teeth, for example, may develop cavities (also known as tooth decay) if adequate oral hygiene procedures, such as brushing and flossing on a regular basis, are not followed.  Furthermore, teeth may be harmed by stressful events or stress.  A dental filling may be an effective treatment for mild damage, like as cavities; however, more extensive decay or damage may need the use of crowns.  However, in other cases, the damage is in the middle; a filling will not completely solve the issue, but a crown would need more comprehensive dental surgery.  In rare cases, a dental inlay or onlay might be used to solve the condition.

Both of these restorations are custom-made for each patient since they are attached to the affected tooth or teeth.  This procedure allows them to adequately cure damage, restoring a tooth's look and functioning.
