Laughing Gas

Back

One of the most difficult aspects of the job is keeping a patient comfortable throughout dental operations.  In most circumstances, stating something is simpler than really doing it.  Novocaine is one method for numbing a patient, but laughing gas may also be used to make them comfortable enough to prevent pain.  Dentists may easily put their patients at ease during dental treatments by administering laughing gas.  The fear of pain is a significant impediment to seeking dental care.  Laughing gas is offered at many dental clinics, including ours in Cambridge, and has a variety of applications for patients.

If you want to get your dental treatment done without feeling any pain, laughing gas is the way to go.  Though the actual dental procedure is typically painless when the area is numbed, the psychological effect of having sharp equipment in your mouth may be devastating.  If you are terrified of the dentist, they may use laughing gas to make you sleep so they can work more effectively.
